Tracks In The Dust

A Father's Advice About Learning the Mission of Life

Sleepless Night

Silent darkness disappears as I pull the shade

I lay and dream that once it seemed I had it made

Now it’s not so simple- things aren’t all so right

And so I lie through another sleepless night

But  still I can remember- it seems so long ago

When love and life were perfect, and I loved her so

So perfect could it all be, if only she would say

“I love you still”, it’s morning, another day

Back in the day I was trying to write love songs and this was an incomplete one but always thought I could finish it with a chorus or something. It’s just something I remember writing back in the 70’s from a collection of stuff I did called “A Search for a Line”  MGert© 1974
